Viagra a FDA approved drug for ED treatment can be treated as a magic pill for impotence and help you during sexual intercourse. But you should be
aware of the possible precautions before taking viagra. By doing this you can save yourself from some unwanted problems.

Following are the precautions that one should take before taking Viagra:

Before using Viagra tell your doctor about your medical history.

Let your doctor know if you have:
Any drug allergy
Sickle cell anemia
Blood system cancers ( leukemia or myeloma)
Peyronie's disease
Eye problems (retinosis pigmentosa)
Kidney disease
Liver disease
Bleeding Disorder
Sickle cell anemia
Heart disease
Stroke
Severe high or low pressure
Penis condition like fibrosis or scarring


Do not take Viagra if you are taking any nitrate based drug like any nitroglycerin patches, nitroglycerin ointment, pills or nitroglycerin ointment or
isosorbide pills. The combination of Viagra and these drugs can prove to be a fatal combination, as it causes a blood pressure drop to life threatening
levels.
Do not take excess of alcohol as this may aggravate the side effects of Viagra.
Sexual activity puts enough pressure on the heart. If you have such heart problems which can get aggravated due to the sexual activity then do
not take Viagra. Use it cautiously-if you have to use it at all-in case if you have heart attack, stroke or life threatening heart regularities within the
past 6 months.
In order to avoid light headedness or dizziness, you should get up very slowly from a lying position. The elderly may be more sensitive to the side
effects hence caution is especially advised to this group.
Viagra is not for the women folk, hence, should not be taken by them. Viagra's effects during pregnancy have not been studied, so pregnant women
should not take Viagra especially during pregnancy.
Lastly, do inform your doctor about any prescription or non-prescription medicine that you are taking. Special care should be taken not to take any
nitrate based drug at least 12 hrs before or after taking Viagra.
Inform your doctor if you are taking protease inhibitor for the treatment of HIV disease.
Viagra has not been studied in combination with other drugs or treatment methods, for treating erectile dysfunction, hence, it is not advised to take
Viagra in combination with other treatments.
